Handwriting Without Tears® appeals to all types of learners; providing developmentally appropriate, multisensory strategies for early writing.
It facilitates the development of fine motor skills, pencil grip, and spatial awareness, and addresses letter/number recognition and capital/lowercase formation. Activities also develop important social-emotional skills including body awareness, turn-taking and sharing. The Handwriting Without TearsÆ sequence of learning letters (capitals first, then lowercase) takes advantage of child development and promotes effective learning and confidence. Alphabet knowledge and letter formation is developed through music and hands-on letter play where children move, touch, feel, and manipulate real objects as they learn the habits and skills essential for writing. |
The workbooks used are clean and clear to deliberately avoid visually confusing backgrounds and the illustrations used promote left-to-right directionality to encourage correct visual tracking and writing direction.
Every workbook is user friendly for those who write with their left hand as models are provided on the left and right so that children can easily see what they are copying. Children don’t have to lift their hands or place them in an awkward position to see a model. There is an app available to use on your tablet device and a web-based program to use in the classroom on your interactive whiteboard or computer. |
Please feel free to contact ‘Treetop Kids’ to discuss how Handwriting Without TearsÆ may be able to help your child or students.
